My Story
I was born in a small town in Mexico. It was the type of town where midwife services for my birth would cost about ten dollars in today’s money. During my delivery complications happened, but both my mother and I survived.

Growing up with humble beginnings teaches you to happily share meals amongst siblings without complaining. Whether it was scrambled eggs and adding onions and potatoes to make them go further or sharing an apple between four, was as our way of life. Despite our financial difficulties, we were, and are, rich in love.
Each day, on the way to school, our parents made us do math problems the entire way. My parents never pressured us to go to college, although our success was important to them. We were supported in any endeavors we chose, as long as we did our best. My father, with only a sixth grade education, always had his own business, and with every success and in every failure, he learned from both. So what he inherited in us was the University of Life. He also wanted us to give back to our community and provide opportunities for people whenever possible because everyone deserves a chance. Where some have compared life to a box of chocolates, my father told me that business life was like a bicycle; no matter how many miles you have ridden, you must continue pedaling to keep your business going. The lesson I took away from that was that business is ever-evolving, so it’s important to remain innovative, diligent, and flexible to thrive.
